Quieres hacer un largometraje???

Si no puedes dedicar un año a nuestro curso regular “Realiza un Largometraje”, te damos la oportunidad de participar en un Taller Master, donde de febrero a abril, podrás realizar un curso intensivo de Cinematografía o Producción.

Durante estos meses elaboraremos clases de teoría, ejercicios prácticos, análisis, preproducción del largometraje, rodaje de un mes y una ultima semana de Postproducción.

Al final del taller, el alumno habrá adquirido conocimientos prácticos y profesionales acerca de la realización de largometrajes, así como experiencia en rodaje, un plan de desarrollo de carrera y una bobina show reel con muestras del trabajo.

Siguiendo con la presentación de profesores, esta semana aprovechando que nuestros alumnos de “Introducción al proceso Cinematográfico” y “realiza un largometraje” van hacer un intensivo de guión, os presentamos a nuestro profesor de guión Joan Álvarez.

Joan Álvarez (Guionista) ha escrito, entre otros trabajos, la adaptación de la novela “El libro de las aguas”, de Alejandro López de Andrada (llevada recientemente a la pantalla por Antonio Gimenez-Rico) y el guión “Pulsión”, basado en un argumento original de Luis Alcoriza (guionista de algunos títulos de Luis Buñuel).

If you can't spend all year in our "DIGITAL FEATURE FILM" program, you can still join us in a Master Workshop, where from February to April, you can participate in a 3 month Cinematography or Producing Workshop.

During these months, we will have theoretical classes, practical exercises, analysis and preproduction, shoot a digital feature film for a month and a postproduction week.  At the end of the workshop, students will have acquired practical and professional feature film knowledge, as well as on set experience, a career plan and a showreel with samples of their work.

Continuing with our presentation of our professors, as this week our "Introduction to fFilmmaking" and "Digital Feature Film" students will be submerged in a week-long screenwriting seminar, we would like to introduce you to our screenwriting instructor, Joan Álvarez.

Joan Álvarez (screenwriter) has written, amongst other works, the adaptation of the Alejando López Andrada’s novel, El libro de las Aguas,  (shot for the screen by Antonio Giménez-Rico) and the screenplay Pulsión, based on an original story by Luís Alcoriza (screenwriter for some of Luis Buñuel’s films). 

Semana 1, Pitching, Guiones, etc..

Una vez acabada con la resaca de películas en el Festival de Sitges, nos metemos de lleno en los cursos anuales de afilm. Donde iremos contando los proyectos que van saliendo, los guiones escogidos y el desarrollo de los rodajes.

En el curso “Realiza un largometraje”, esta semana los alumnos realizaran un pitching, para saber cual será el guión seleccionado, que trabajaran durante todo el curso, hasta que en el mes de junio, una vez pasado por todos los procesos de Preproducción, Producción y Postproducción tengan su primer largometraje!!

También seguimos haciendo un repaso por los profesores de afilm, donde hoy os presentamos a Juan Antonio Fernández. Estamos realmente muy contentos de tener un profesional de su experiencia y su trayectoria, entre nosotros, un autentico lujo.

Juan Antonio Fernández (Director de Fotografía, Estereografía, Productor), ha trabajado en Los Angeles y en España, durante mas de 20 años, incluyendo varios años en Panavision Hollywood. Diseñador de equipo de cine especializado, se especializa en cinematografía de alta velocidad, submarina, vfx y estereoscopia, además de llevar mas de 15 años como profesor de cine (UCLA Extension, Universidad Pompeu Fabra, ESCAC). Ha rodado el primer video musical en 3D estereoscópico en España, además del primer cortometraje 3D estereo, y la primera retransmisión en 3D estereo en directo de una Opera.

Having finished enjoying the films at the Sitges International Film Festival, we're diving into the year-long courses at afilm.  We'll keep you up to date on upcoming projects, the screenplays selected and the projects developed.
This week, in the "DIGITAL FEATURE FILM" program, students will be pitching their project proposals, so as to select a screenplay to be developed during the duration of the course. Upon completing the Preproduction, Production and Postproduction processes, they will have their first feature film!

We are also going to continue with our introduction to the professors at afilm- Today we are going to present  Juan Antonio Fernández. We are very pleased to have a professional of his experience with us, it is a true luxury.   

Juan Antonio Fernández (Director of Photography, Stereographer, Producer), has worked in Los Angeles and in Spain for over 20 years, including several years at Panavision Hollywood. Designer of specialized film equipment, he specializes in high speed, underwater, VFX and stereo cinematography. He has been teaching for over 15 years (UCLA Extension, Universidad Pompeu Fabra, ESCAC). He has, among other projects, shot the first 3D stereoscopic music video in Spain, as well as the first 3D short film and the first live 3D stereo broadcast of an opera.

Empieza el nuevo curso...

Parecía que nunca iba a llegar, pero ya esta aquí, el día 15 empieza los nuevos cursos anuales en afilm, estamos preparando todo, para que este nuevo año, vuelva a ser mágico.

A lo largo del curso iremos presentando a los profesores, colaboradores y todos los profesionales que pasen por afilm. Empezamos con Ivan Castineiras, profesor de Historia del Cine y la persona que inaugurara las clases de este curso.

Ivan Castineiras licenciado en Historia del Arte Contemporánea en la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, a posteriori estudio Cine en el Conservatorio Nacional de Cine y Teatro en Portugal, así como en la Ecole nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière, en Paris. Especializado en Historia Cinematográfica.

It seemed the day would never arrive, yet here it is- on the 15th, the new year-long courses begin at afilm. We are preparing everything, so that this new year may be magical.

Throughout the course, we will be presenting all the professors, collaborators and professionals who pass through afilm. We will start with Ivan Castineiras, professor of Film History and the person who will be inaugurating classes this term.

Ivan Castineiras has a B.A. in Contemporary Art History from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. Afterwards, he studied Cinema at the Conservatorio Nacional de Cine y Teatro in Portugal, as well as at the Ecole nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière in Paris.

afilm estará presente en el Festival de Sitges

Hoy estamos de celebración, afilm estará presente en Sitges 2010 el Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya.

El cortometraje “Love Lost” de Charbel Bou-Antoun, alumno del curso “Introducción al proceso cinematográfico” y el largometraje "The Peculiar Habits of the Natives" dirigido por los alumnos "Realiza un largometraje" estarán en la sección Brigadoon.
Varios miembros del equipo docente de afilm, incluyendo Yolanda Torres (Directora), Javier Ortega (Diseño de Sonido) y Juan A. Fernández (Director de Fotografía) estrenarán en el festival, su película "Arkadia".
Contamos los días, para poder disfrutar del festival y nuestras películas.

Today we have cause for celebration- afilm will be present at the Sitges 2010 International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia.

Charbel Bou-Antoun, a student from the "Introduction to Filmmaking" program, will be screening his short film, "Love Lost", as will the feature film "The Peculiar Habits of the Natives", directed by students of the "Digital Feature Film" program, in the Brigadoon Section.

Several members of the afilm teaching staff, including Yolanda Torres, (Filmmaker), Javier Ortega (Sound Design) and Juan A. Fernandez (Director of Photograpahy) will be premiering their feature film "Arkadia" in the festival as well.

We are counting the days, until we can enjoy the festival and our films.

Intensivo de Interpretación en Ibiza!!!

Alguna vez os habéis imaginado, hacer un Intensivo de Interpretación en un lugar mágico? Ahora es posible, estamos preparando un taller de interpretación de 9 días en Ibiza.

Este curso pretende mostrar la realidad del trabajo del actor, de manera practica, definiendo funciones y estableciendo sistemas de trabajo útiles para el interprete.
Al finalizar el curso se entregara, una copia con la grabación de todo el material trabajado y una sesión fotográfica a modo de videobook.
El curso será dirigido por Javier Ortega, que ha impartido cursos monográficos y conferencias en la RESAD (Madrid), Universidad de Coimbra (Portugal), Universidad de filosofía y letras de Sevilla.

Have you ever imagined taking on an intensive acting workshop in a truely magical place? Now it's possible, as we're preparing a 9 Day Acting Workshop in Ibiza.
This course strides to demonstrate the reality of an actor's labor, defining functions and establishing useful working methodologies for the actor.

A falta de un mes para el comienzo de un nuevo curso, estamos ilusionados ante este nuevo reto, el resumen del año pasado, 6 cortometrajes, 1 largometraje, publicidad, practicas en el Liceo Barcelona, etc... pero somos insaciables y este año queremos mucho más.

Just a month to go before the new courses begin, we are very excited about this new challenge. To summarize the past year, 6 short films, 1 feature film, advertising, training at the Liceo Barcelona, etc.. but we are insatiable and this year we want more.
