CONVOCATORIA  PARA EX-ALUMNOS DE AFILM

afilm quiere invitar a ex-alumnos a participar en la convocatoria "Ven y rueda un spot".  Es una invitación para todos aquellos que quieran poner en practica  otra vez sus conocimientos y creatividad.  La idea es rodar un spot de y para afilm, en un día, con idea, guión, creatividad, dirección director de fotografía, etc de vosotros, y crear una historia.  

¿Y que hacemos nosotros? Ponemos el equipo, ayudamos en la parte técnica, (cámaras, trípodes, etc.) ¿quieres hacer un plano secuencia? Tenemos exalumnos del workshops de Steadicam, que pueden hacerlo. Directores de fotografía? Directores? Guionistas? También los tenemos, sois vosotros!!

De esta manera todos los alumnos que han pasado por afilm, tienen la oportunidad de seguir vinculados en proyectos, de hacer bobina y sobretodo seguir rodando.

 NORMAS:

-Todos los proyectos estarán tutelados por algún miembro de afilm.

-No pueden duran mas de 30 segundos. Incluidos dos segundos de cortinilla de afilm (puede ser al principio o al final del spot)

-El rodaje donde intervengan equipo técnico, cámara, trípodes, etc.. No puede durar más de 6 horas.

-Coste Cero (tiene que ser un ejercicio de imaginación, situación, no de producción)

-afilm se reserva el derecho para poder mostrarlo en todos sus canales (Facebook, Twitter, Blog, web, etc..)  

-El 80% del equipo técnico tiene que ser alumno o exalumno de afilm.

CALLING ALL AFILM EXSTUDENTS!

afilm would like to invite its ex-students to participate in its “Come and shoot afilm promo” event.  It’s an invitation to all those who would like to put into practice, once again, their knowledge and creativity. The idea is to shoot a promo for afilm, in a single day, with your idea, script, creativity, directing, cinematography, and create a story.

And what will afilm do?  afilm will provide the equipment, we’ll assist with the technical aspects, (camera, tripod, postproduction, etc)- you’d like to shoot a fluid master?  We’ve got certified Steadicam operators from our Steadicam Workshops who can shoot it.  Cinematographers?  Directors? Writers?  We’ve also got them- they’re you!

This way, students who have formed a part of afilm will have the opportunity to stay connected to our projects, create pieces for their showreels, and above all, keep on shooting.

GUIDELINES:

-All projects will be supervised by an afilm staff member.

-Promos should be 30 seconds long, including 2 seconds of the afilm logo (beginning or end of the promo).

-The shoot, involving the crew, equipment, cameras, etc, may not last more than 6 hours (afilm will provide shooting permits from the Sitges Film Office)

-Budget Zero: this should be an exercise in imagination, not in production.

-afilm reserves the right to feature the promos on all its channels (Facebook, Twitter, Blog, web, etc..), crediting students.

-At least 80% of the crew must be an afilm student or ex-student, in particular, all Department Heads must be ex-students.

Come and shoot afilm!

Ya hemos empezado!!

Ya hemos empezado!! Nuevos alumnos con muchas ganas, viejos conocidos con energía renovada y sobretodo gran entusiasmo por este viaje que iniciamos y acabaremos dentro de ocho meses.

En este tiempo, se harán cortometrajes en 16mm, cortometrajes en HDV, un largometraje, masterclass, practicas en 35mm, con Red One, Talleres de Dirección cinematográfica, Talleres de Producción y muchas cosas más, que iremos descubriendo poco a poco.

En este curso tampoco nos olvidaremos de nuestros exalumnos y estamos preparando algunos proyectos, como la serie “ven y rueda un spot”, donde seguiremos trabajando con ellos, que ya son una parte muy importante de afilm.

We're off and running!  New students eager to learn, old friends with renewed energy and above all, lots of enthusiasm for this journey which we're now beginning and will end in eight months.

During this time, we'll create 16mm short film, digital short film, a feature film, master classes, 35mmand Red One exercises, Directing Workshops, Producing Workshops and much more we'll reveal little by little.

During this course, we'll not forget our ex-students, we're preparing some projects, with the "Come and shoot afilm promo" calling, where we'll keep working with them, as they're a very important part of afilm.

afilm de nuevo en el Festival Internacional de Sitges

Emocionados!! de esa manera nos encontramos, a menos de una semana de empezar el nuevo curso!! 

Durante el verano hemos trabajado en “Summer Workshops”,  preparando nuevas  propuestas, nuevos talleres, como Actors Labs, que arranca este año y muchas más sorpresas que iremos desvelando poco a poco.

Pero lo que mas nos llena de orgullo, es cuando nuestros alumnos y exalumnos, nos dan alegrías y lo han vuelto hacer, esta muy bien comenzar el curso sabiendo que Theo Prasidis y su cortometraje “Under the Apron”, ha sido seleccionado por el Festival Internacional de Sitges, que el cortometraje de Rabih Ibrahim “Love and Moustaches” ha sido seleccionado en Beirut Film Festival y que Allan Ignaczk también ha sido seleccionado en Orlando Film Festival con su cortometraje “Nature of the Beast”. Nuestra enhorabuena a todos y seguiremos trabajando para que los que llegan ahora, puedan cumplir todas sus expectativas.

During the summer, we've worked on our summer workshops, prepared our new workshops, including the Actor's Studio, which kicks off this year, and many more surprises, which we'll reveal little by little.

But what we're most proud of is when our students and ex-students, give us cause for celebration, and they've done it again- it's great to start the year knowing that Theo Prasidis and his short film   “Under the Apron”, has been selected at the Sitges International Film Festival, that  Rabih Ibrahim's short film  “Love and Moustaches” has been selected at the Beirut Film Festival and  Allan Ignaczk's film has also been selected at the  Orlando Film Festival, it's entitled  “Nature of the Beast”. Our congratulations to all, and we'll keep working so that those arriving now, can live out their expectations.

Estrenos, cursos, lo siguiente?

Exhaustos!! Así nos encontramos, han sido unos meses de mucho trabajo, esfuerzo y lucha, pero ya esta, tenemos película y creemos que es una muy buena película, estamos muy contentos y orgullosos por el trabajo de nuestros alumnos. Desde aquí queremos agradecer a todos los que han participado en nuestros cursos, talleres o seminarios y aquellos que han colaborado de una manera o de otra, por hacer posible sacar todos estos proyectos adelante. GRACIAS!!!

Y ahora que? Pues mas cursos, “Talleres de Verano”, tenemos muchos para estos meses, y muy variados, de fotografía, dirección, guión….los hemos ido comentando uno a uno en este blog y si queréis más información, podéis verlos en la Web www.afilm.es o enviar un mail a info@afilm.es

También estamos preparando los cursos anuales para el siguiente año, donde tendremos más talleres, más seminarios, más sorpresas y como no, más rodajes!!

Por eso, que mejor manera de empezar el curso, que con un Taller con Larry Sugar’s Business of Entertainment Workshop, productor ejecutivo de Peter Greenaway, Productor de Francis Ford Coppola, ha trabajado para los grandes estudios, marketing y distribución de largometrajes y televisión, más de 150 largometrajes y 500 horas de televisión, etc… Será una semana intensa de trabajo y muy interesante.

No estáis deseando que llegue Octubre?? Nosotros SIII!!!!!

Exhausted!  That's how we are, these past few months have been hard work, constant effort and struggle, but it's done, we have the feature film and we believe it's a very good film, we're very happy and proud of our students' work. From here, we'd like to thank everyone who has participated in our courses, workshops, master classes, as well as those who have collaborated in so many ways, making it possible to create all these projects. That's why, what better way than to kick off the next course than with Larry Sugar’s Business of Entertainment Workshop- Larry has executive produced for Peter Greenaway, produced for Francis Ford Coppola, he has worked for many major studios in marketing and distribution, having produced over 150 feature films, and 500  hours of television,... etc.  It'll be a very intense, interesting week.  Can you wait for October to arrive?  We can't!!!

Preestreno "Checkout"!!!! Viernes 17 de Junio!!!

Últimos retoques, acabando la remezcla de sonido, el grafismo de la película, los subtítulos, etc.. después de un duro año de trabajo, ha llegado el gran día, el viernes 17 de Junio, se preestrena “Checkout”, el largometraje de los alumnos del curso “Realización de un largometraje”. Será la excusa perfecta, para volver a encontrarnos todo el equipo técnico y artístico y disfrutar del momento. Seguro que sorprenderá a más de uno, ya que estamos muy orgullosos del resultado final.

El mismo viernes, antes del largometraje, se podrán ver los cortometrajes realizados por los alumnos de  “Introducción al Proceso Cinematográfico”, de una factura realmente muy buena y de temática muy dispar, que probablemente te acabaras enamorando de alguno de ellos.

Mientras finalizamos unos proyectos, empezamos otros, te recordamos que este verano haremos cursos de Fotografía, Dirección de actores, guión, Steadicam y muchos más y que también ya esta abierto el plazo de inscripción para los cursos anuales del año que viene, ¿Quieres ser el próximo en rodar un largometraje?

The final adjustments, mixing sound, the feature film graphic design,the subtitles... After a year of hard work, the big day has arrived, this Friday, June 17, we'll present the pre-premier screening of the feature film "Checkout", the feature film created by students of the Digital Feature Film program.  It's the perfect excuse to bring cast and crew together once again, and enjoy the moment.  We're certain it'll surprise more  than a few- we're very proud of the result.

This same Friday, before the feature film screening, the short films created by the "Introduction to Filmmaking" program will be screened for cast and crew- all very different thematically, there's sure to be one you'll love.  

While we finish up these projects, we'll begin new ones- let us remind you we'll be holding Summer Workshops-  Cinematography, Directing the Actor, Screenwriting, Steadicam, and many more- We're also accepting applications for next year.  Would you like to shoot a feature film next year?

Postproducción de Sonido, Subtítulos, Cortos, Cursos....

Esta semana estamos en la recta final, del proceso de postproducción del largometraje, ya esta entre nosotros Javier Ortega, que nos ayudara y mejorara todo los aspectos del sonido, un autentico lujo tener a este increíble profesional de la postproducción de sonido entre nosotros. Mientras seguimos trabajando en el diseño de la película (poster, carátulas DVD, etc..) y los subtítulos, ardua tarea que no es nada fácil.

Ya hemos rodado todos los cortometrajes de los alumnos de “Introducción al proceso cinematográfico”, el ultimo ha sido Rabih, con su corto “Love and Mustaches”, la historia de amor de un joven fotógrafo y su viaje entre la fantasía que quiere capturar con su cámara y el reto que supone la vida real, sin esconderse detrás de ella.

Este año tenemos más cursos que nunca, para que nadie se quede sin hacer lo que quiere.

Directing the actor for film with James Duff: tres días de curso intensivo y practico, donde directores tienen la oportunidad de ensayar y practicar escenas con actores bajo la  guía de James.

James Duff: Graduado en la University of Southern California School cinemática Arts, con un MFA en Dirección, es profesor en la Prague Film School e instructor de drama en Stone Street Studios/NYU Tisch. Ha dirigido teatro en Los Angeles y Nueva York y tiene una larga experiencia en largometrajes.

Roberto Milazzo’s Actor/Director film lab: durante una semana, dos grupos, uno de actores y otro de directores, trabajaran todos los procesos de un rodaje y la comunicación entre ellos. Desde el proceso de la lectura del guión hasta la construcción del personaje por parte del actor, los ensayos y el rodaje.

Roberto Milazzo: Creador y Director del programa “The Film Track”, el primer programa de cine en el Lee Strasberg Institute de Nueva York, e instructor de otros centros como Stanford University. Ha colaborado con David Mamet, Willians H. Macy, Mike Nichols y Sidney Lumet.

This week, we're down to the final stretch of the postproduction process of the feature film, Javier Ortega, Sound Designer and Postproduction engineer, is with us once again, to help us improve all aspects of the soundtrack, it's a true luxury to have this incredible sound postproduction professional with us.  Meanwhile, we're working on the film design (poster, dvd artwork...) and the subtitles, a not-so-easy task.

We've finished shooting all of the short films from the "Introduction to Filmmaking" program, the last one up is Rabih's, his short film "Love and Mustaches", is a love story where a young photographer makes a voyaje through the fantasy he wishes to capture with his camera, to the challenge of real life, with no camera to hide behind.

This year we have more workshops than ever before, so no one misses out on anything.

Directing the actor for film with James Duff: a three day intensive practical and theoretical course, where directors have the opportunity to rehearse scenes with actors guided by James.

James Duff: a graduate of the University of Southern California School cinemática Arts, with an MFA in Directing, James is a Prague Film School Directing and former Stone Street Studios/NYU Tisch drama instructor. James’s extensive Los Angeles and New York Theatre directing experience compliments his considerable film.

Roberto Milazzo’s Actor/Director film lab: for a week, two groups, one Director group, one Actor group, work all the film processes including the shoot and communication between the two.  From the reading of the script to the actor's building of the character, the rehearsals, and the shoot.

Roberto Milazzo: Founder and Program Director of “The Film Track”, the first-ever film production and the students program at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York, as well as an instructor at other training centers including Stanford University, Robert has served as writer/Director David Mamet’s Project Associate two years, in addition to having worked Willians H. Macy, Mike Nichols and Sidney Lumet.
