Estamos de vuelta!!

Este año será muy especial para afilm, tenemos muchas sorpresas y estamos deseando empezar el curso. Iremos desvelando cosas muy interesantes, como la colaboración con Berklee, que realizaran la música de nuestros cortometrajes y muchos proyectos nuevos. Para empezar, durante el mes de septiembre cada lunes, miércoles y viernes os mostraremos una serie de spots que podréis ver en Facebook, Blog y Twitter respectivamente, esperamos que os guste tanto como a nosotros!!.

Colaboración con Berklee College of Music

afilm tiene el honor de anunciar una nueva colaboración con el prestigioso Berklee College of Music en Valencia, la universidad líder mundial en música contemporánea, localizado en el impresionante Palau de las Artes Reina Sofia.  Alumnos del programa Master en Composición para Cine, Television y Video Juegos crearan la musica para los cortometrajes que se crearan este próximo año por alumnos del programa de afilm, Introducción al Proceso Cinematográfico.  Esta colaboración incluye la grabación de la música para los proyectos fin de año, con orquesta en un estudio en Los Angeles.  Estamos seguros de que esta nueva y emocionante asociación empujara a todos nuestros alumnos a nuevos retos creativos.

En afilm nos encanta la playa, pero solo si estamos trabajando, por eso, esta semana alumnos de nafilm, han estado colaborando en el nuevo anuncio de Coca Cola que se ha rodado en Sitges, pronto lo podreis ver en Televisión.

afilm International Film Workshops in Sitges (Barcelona), is honored to announce a new collaboration with the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Valencia, world's leading college for contemporary music, located in the breathtaking Palau de las Artes Reina Sofía. Students of Berklee’s Master in Scoring for Film, Television and Video Games will be scoring the short films to be created this coming year by afilm students of the Introduction to Filmmaking program.  This collaboration includes the recording of the scores for the final projects with an orchestra in a studio in Los Angeles.  We are certain this exciting new partnership will push all our students to new creative heights.

  

At afilm, we love the  beach, but only if we're working, that's why this week afilm students have been collaborating on the Coca-Cola ad shot in Sitges, soon to be broadcast.

Preestreno y Talleres de Verano

Maravilloso!! No podemos definir mejor el preestreno que realizamos para el equipo, familiares y amigos en el Teatro Prado de Sitges. Agradecer a todo el mundo que se acerco, como Sarah una de las actrices principales que cogio un vuelo desde Londres o Susana que vino de Madrid, para estar con nosotros, en este día tan especial. Todos estábamos deseando ver la película en pantalla grande y nos volvimos a quedar sorprendidos!! Toda una gozada, que queremos compartir con todo el mundo, y por eso, vamos a empezar a trabajar para mover este proyecto por los festivales.

Este fin de semana, estamos realizando el taller de Arri Alexa, que podemos decir, esta siendo un curso impresionante y tener una Alexa entre las manos y poder hacer ejercicios prácticos, etc.. todo un privilegio. Pero ya sabéis este el primero de los talleres de verano, pero nos quedan muchos, steadicam, cámara, etc.. si quieres conocer todos los cursos, pídenos información en info@afilm.es

Marvellous!  There is no better way to describe the pre-premier screening of our annual feature film for family and friends at the Prado Theater in Sitges.  We want to thank everyone for coming, including Sarah, one of the film's stars, who grabbed a flight from London, or Susana who ran over from Madrid, to be with us, on such a special day.  We were all anxious to finally see the film on the big screen and once again, we were pleasantly surprised!!  What a pleasure, we would like to share it with everyone, and for this reason, we've begun to move the film on the festival circuit.  

This weekend, we've had a "Weekend with Alexa" workshop, it's an impressive course, and to have an Alexa to work with, and shoot with, etc...  is quite the privilege!  But you know this is the first of the Summer Workshops, there are plenty more ahead, Steadicam, camera, directing, etc... if you want more information, just let us know at info@afilm.es

Estrenamos Dancing Dogs

Esta semana hemos acabado los cursos, pero en afilm seguimos trabajando y mucho, este martes estrenamos en el Teatro del Prado de Sitges a las 19h, la película realizada por los alumnos de Realización de un Largometraje, es una manera increíble de finalizar este proyecto y sobretodo siendo uno de los escenarios de la película. Por eso nos complace invitar a familiares, amigos y equipo, a la proyección de “Dancing Dogs”, esperamos que disfrutéis  y para abrir boca, os dejamos con el primer trailer.

This week we've finished up the year-long courses, but at afilm we're still hard at work, this Tuesday at the Prado Theater in Sitges at 7pm we'll be pre-premiering the feature film, "Dancing Dogs" created by students of the Digital Feature Film program, it's an incredible way to finish up this project, especially as some of the scenes were shot in this very theater.  It's a special screening for friends and family, cast and crew, to say "thank you " to all those people who made this project possible.  To get things started, we'll leave you with the first trailer of the film:

Ya casi tenemos la película!!

Quedan muy pocos días para acabar el curso y estamos finalizando todo!! La postproducción del largometraje, esta casi terminada, hemos realizado los ADR, la edición, el audio y nos queda nada para acabar el etalonaje. Como podéis ver mucho trabajo en pocos días, pero en afilm podemos con todo!!

El 26 de junio haremos un pase de “Dancing Dogs”, para el equipo y familiares en el Teatro Prado, esperamos poder encontrarnos con todos los participantes de este maravilloso proyecto ese día.

Los alumnos de iniciación al proceso cinematográfico, están acabando de finalizar la edición de sus cortometrajes, estas ultimas semanas en la sala de edición no hay descanso. Estos proyectos se podrán ver el día del estreno de la película, y podemos asegurar que será un buen comienzo!!

Recordar que este año, tenemos más cursos para este verano y prácticamente para todos los departamentos, Dirección, Producción, Arte, Fotografía, Interpretación… si estas interesado en algunos de ellos, puedes encontrar más información en la pagina Web o escríbenos a info@afilm.es.

There are very few days until the end of the course and we're finishing everything up!! The feature film postproduction is nearly complete, we've done a bit of ADRing, all of the editing, audio post, we're now putting the finishing touches on the color grading.  As you can see, it's a lot of work, but at afilm, anything is possible!!

On June 26 we'll have a pre-premier screening of "Dancing Dogs" for cast, crew, friends and family, at the Prado Theater, we hope everyone will enjoy the film as much as we have!!

Students of the Introduction to Filmmaking program are finishing up the editing of their final short films, these last few weeks there has been no slacking in the editing room.  These projects will also be screened, before the feature film, at the theater on June 26- the perfect introduction to the feature attraction!!

Edición, edición, edición!!!

Seguimos con la postproducción de la película, este año realmente están haciendo un trabajo extraordinario, ya que tienen menos tiempo que años anteriores, pero realmente ni se notara ese tiempo de menos, porque todo se esta realizando muy rápido y muy bien, los chicos, profesores y colaboradores se han esforzado mucho en este proceso y esta quedando increíble. Que ganas tenemos de verla proyectada!!!

Aparte de todo el trabajo de postproducción, Javier volverá esta semana para realizar la mezcla de sonido y los chicos están elaborando los subtítulos, no paramos!!!

El grupo de iniciación al proceso cinematográfico, ya han realizado todos sus cortometrajes y ahora están con la edición de sus proyectos, tenemos de todos los géneros, rodados en exterior, interior, subacuatico, etc.. pronto os enseñaremos algunos.

Otro grupo con el que estamos muy contentos es el de Actor Studio con Amy Blaise, ahora que esta acabando el curso, vemos una evolución sorprendente, han participado en rodajes, han hecho muchos ejercicios /practicas y se nota, un grupo maravilloso que estamos seguros que van hacer grandes cosas!!

AYUDANTE DE DIRECCION Taller de 4 días

afilm presenta un Taller intensivo, practico del AYUDANTE DE DIRECCION (Primer Ayudante de Dirección, Segundo Ayudante de Dirección, Segundo Segundo o Auxiliar de Dirección). Este Taller de cuatro días esta diseñado para aprender y poner en practica la totalidad de las responsabilidades del Ayudante de Dirección (con un énfasis en sus responsabilidades en el cine), incluyendo el uso de Movie Magic Scheduling para la realización del plan de rodaje.

ROBERT MILAZZO: COMO RODAR ACTORES... CON LA CAMARA Taller de 4 días

Instructor de Cine en el Lee Strasberg Theatre y el Film Institute en New York, Robert Milazzo ha diseñado un Taller práctico donde los alumnos practican y estudian la relación especifica técnica y emocional entre la cámara y la interpretación - con una investigación precisa de como el movimiento, la velocidad, el espacio, el tamaño, la dirección y el tiempo afectan la interpretación y la interpretación de las imágenes. Robert ha trabajado como Asociado de Proyecto durante dos años con David Mamet, ademas de haber trabajado con William H. Macy, Mike Nichols y Sidney Lumet.

ROBERT MILAZZOʼS LA CIENCIA DE FILMMAKING Taller de 4 días

En este Taller práctico, los alumnos serán guiados en una serie de proyectos técnicos que recrean las complicaciones e invenciones del Incio de la era Cinematográfica, y sus pioneros. Los Filmmakers que inicialmente comprendieron como la cinematografía directamente impacta los procesos emocionales y cognativos del espectador. Los alumnos también pondrán en practica innovaciones modernas y exploraran las herramientas de la próxima generación de cine – 3D, 4D, internet, y smartphones.

JAMES DUFF: TALLER DE DIRECCION Taller de 3 días

Instructor de Dirección de Prague Film School, Instructor de Dirección y de Drama de Stone Street Studios/ NYU Tisch este Taller de 3 días de James Duff de Dirección cubre aspectos prácticos de la dirección de actores, especificamente para la cámara. Abierto a filmmakers y actores.

SHOOTING CAMP: DIRECTORʼS VS. DIRECTORES DE FOTOGRAFIA / 1 Semana

afilm ofrece un “Boot Camp”, un TALLER DE CORTOMETRAJES intensivo de 7 días, dividido en dos especialidades, a escoger por el alumno: DIRECTORES y DIRECTORES DE FOTOGRAFIA. Cada miembro del equipo de Dirección escribirá, preparara un storyboard, dirigirá y editara su propio cortometraje, al igual que participara en el resto de los rodajes, utilizando ordenadores Apple, y Apple software. Cada miembro del equipo de Cinematógrafos rodara 3 - 4 cortometrajes, cambiando en cada uno de puesto: Director deFotografía, Operador de Cámara, Ayudante de Cámara, Gaffer, Key Grip. Todo participante se quedara en una casa en el campo en la zona de Sitges. El Taller proveerá todos los materiales necesarios, además de las comidas. Cada participante recibirá una copia de cada corto para utilizar en su bobina.

We continue the film's postproduction, this year they're really doing an extraordinary job, as the schedule is a bit tighter than usual, though this won't be evident as the students are working very fast and very well, instructors and collaborators have made quite an effort and it's turning out very well.  We can't wait to see it projected!!

Aside from all the post work, Javier is back this week to mix the film while students aork on the subtitles- there's no stopping!

The Introduction to Filmmaking group has finished shooting their new short films, and are now editing them.  There's every genre, interior, exterior, underwater...  Soon we'll share them with you.  

Another group we're very happy with is the afilm Actor's Studio with Amy Blaise, now that the course is finishing, we can see an impresi e evolution, they've participates in shoots, they've created many exercises and it's evident, a wonderful group we're certain will go on to do great things!

ROBERT MILAZZOʼS HOW TO SHOOT ACTORS... WITH A CAMERA 4 day Workshop

Film Instructor for the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City, Robert Milazzo has designed a hands-on workshop where students practice and study the specific technical and emotional relationship between the camera and performance – with a precise investigation of what movement, speed, space, size, direction, and time does to acting and the interpretation of images. Students will be guided through a series of exercises and explorations to illuminate the unique language of filming actors and getting their best work in your film. Robert has served as writer/director David Mamet's Project Associate for two years, in addition to having worked with William H. Macy, Mike Nichols and Sidney Lumet in a similar capacity.

Más Rodajes, esta vez coproducción europea!!

Ya tenemos el montaje de la película!!! y la verdad, que estamos muy contentos de como ha quedado, pero esto es solo un primer paso de la postproducción, esta semana empezaremos a trabajar el audio, por ello, estará entre nosotros Javier Ortega, todo un artista en este campo y seguro que hará maravillas como siempre, deseando verlo trabajar y escuchar el resultado final, nos volverá a sorprender? seguro que si!!

Los chicos de iniciación al proceso cinematográfico, no paran, aparte de realizar otro cortometraje en Digital esta semana, estuvieron colaborando en un coproducción europea (Holanda, Belgica, Alemania), que se ha rodado estos días en Sitges, la película se titula "& ME"  esta protagonizada por Veronica Echegui, Rossi de Palma y Rafael Cebrian, y dirigida por Norbert Ter Hall con las productoras son Gijsbrecht Film BV/ Phantavision, Eyeworks Film & TV Drana nv y Unafilm. Una experiencia increíble participar en un rodaje de estas dimensiones y con profesionales de este calibre.

Guión:

TALLER DE GUION DE LARGOMETRAJE: afilm ofrece este Taller para el desarrollo creativo de guiones de largometrajes, que se centra en los aspectos practicos y del negocio de la escritura de guiones de largometrajes. El Taller se reune cada sabado para que los alumnos puedan desarrollar su trabajo durante la semana. Cada alumno que participe activamente alcanzara un primer borrador de un largo.

Interpretación:

DESCUBRIR LA INTERPRETACION CON AMY BLAISE (2 días): Cuantos de nosotros estamos interesando en secreto en la interpretacion? Este Taller divertido de 8 alumnos o menos ayudara a conectar con el actor en ti a traves de tecnicas de improvisacion. La improvisacion ayuda a desatar nuestra creatividad y lleva al auto-descubrimiento. Nos muestra a ser espontaneos, y a seguir nuestros instintos. Usando la improvisacion, colaboraremos para crear escenas, que seran grabadas para ser analizados por la Instructora en clase.

TALLER DE CASTING CON AMY BLAISE (3 días): afilm ofrece este Taller de la directora/ escritora/ actriz Amy blaise donde los alumnos se preparan para una de las partes mas imp[rotantes del proceso del actor: el casting. Diseñado para grupos reducidos, este Taller utiliza tecnicas innovadoras para ayudar a los actores a rapidamente analizar una escena desconocida para crear una interpretacion lleva de verdad y dinamismo. Al final, prepararemos un monologo que sera grabado de forma profesional para tu bobina.

TALLER DE ACTOR DE 3 SEMANAS: afilm ofrece este Taller de la directora/ escritora/ actriz Amy blaise donde durante 3 semanas los alumnos tendran una Introduccion al Proceso del Actor. Este Taller explora el proceso del Actor, con distintas tecnicas e improvisacion con escenas. El Taller termina con una sesion especial sobre los castings. Cada actor preparara un monologo que sera grabado profesionalmente para su bobina.

We've locked picture! We've finished editing the film! And the truth be told, we're very happy with the result, but it's only the first postproduction process, this week we befin to work on sound, Javier Ortega will join us, an artist in this field, no doubt he'll work wonders as usual, we can't wait to see him at work and listen to the final result, will he surprise us yet again? No doubt he will!

Students of the Introduction to Filmmaking program never stop, aside from shooting another digital film this week, they interned on a European coproduction ( Holanda, Belgium, Germany), shooting this week in Sitges, entitled  "& ME" starring Veronica Echegui, Rossi de Palma and Rafael Cebrian, directed by Norbert Ter Hall, produced by Gijsbrecht Film BV/ Phantavision, Eyeworks Film & TV Drana nv and Unafilm. SCREENWRITING

ART AND BUSINESS OF FEATURE FILM SCREENWRITING: afilm offers a hands-on English language feature film screenwriting Workshop (lab), which focuses on both creative and business aspects of screenwriting. The workshop will be held Saturday mornings, so each week students can complete the work assigned for the following workshop day. Each student, who actively participates, will begin a first draft of a feature film sceenplay.

ACTING

DISCOVERING ACTING WITH AMY BLAISE (2 day) How many of us are secretly interested in acting? This fun workshop, taught in English and with no more than 8 students, will help bring out your inner thespian through innovative improvisation techniques. Improvisation helps unleash our creativity and leads to self-discovery. It teaches us to be spontaneous and follow our instincts. Using these improvisations, we will collaborate on creating scenes. These scenes will then be filmed for analysis by the instructor and the class.

CASTING WORKSHOP WITH AMY BLAISE (3day) afilm is pleased to offer director/ playwrite/ actress Amy Blaiseʼs Casting Workshop, where students learn how to prepare for one of the most important parts of the acting process: Auditions. Designed for small groups, this workshop uses innovative techniques to help actors quickly analyze unfamiliar scenes for an audition performance that is both truthful and dynamic. At the end, you will prepare a short monologue that will be professionally recorded for your showreel.

PRIMAL ELEMENTS 3 WEEK ACTOR LAB: afilm proudly presents director/ playwrite/ actress Amy Blaiseʼs 3 week Primal Elements Acting Lab, an introduction to acting workshop. This workshop explores the craft of acting, different acting techniques are explored through innovative improvisation exercises and scene work. The workshop ends with a special session on how to audition. Each actor will work on a monologue with the instructor that will be professionally recorded for their showreel.

Más edición, más cursos....

El montaje del largometraje sigue avanzado, estamos muy cerca del corte final, esta parte de la edición es muy complicada, tenemos que ir arañando segundos y frames de cada escena, para que todo tenga el ritmo adecuado y consigamos una pieza equilibrada. También hay que decir, que los chicos han hecho un trabajo extraordinario y desde un principio, esta todo muy claro.

Como siempre nos alegra que a un colaborador nuestro le salgan las cosas bien, por eso nos entusiasma comunicar que Julio Lazo nuestro maquillador y peluquería en "Dancing Dogs", va abrir un negocio en Barcelona (Muntaner 518), un estudio concebido para el maquillaje y peluquería, no dudéis  en pasar!!

Y seguimos con los cortometrajes en digital en el curso "Iniciación al proceso Cinematográfico", semana tras semana rodamos un proyecto, una experiencia increíble, para los alumnos que se habitúan al trabajo en rodaje y tener cierta habilidad con el material cinematográfico.

TALLER DEL DOCUMENTAL - 2 semanas

Instructor de Dirección de Prague Film School, Instructor de Dirección y de Drama de Stone Street Studios/ NYU Tisch, este Taller de 2 semanas de James Duff esta diseñado para alumnos interesados en todos los aspectos de la creación del documental. Taller de 12 días, con grabación durante el fin de semana, incluye ejercicios, teoría, demonstraciones, análisis del trabajo de cada alumno para que mejor desarrollen sus habilidades para contar historias y su estilo visual. Se crearan grupos de 3, que crearan un documental de 10 minutos.

The feature film cutting is moving right along, we're very close to the final cut, this part of editing is very complicated, we need to slice seconds, frames from each scene, so that everything has just the right rhythm, and we have a well-balanced piece.  We also have to mention that the students are doing an excellent job, and from the very beginning, they've had a very clear vision.

As we're always very pleased when things go well for one of our collaborators, we'd like to announce that  Julio Lazo, our Make up / Hair stylist  on "Dancing Dogs", will soon open his own salon in Barcelona (Muntaner 518), a studio created for make up and hair styling, make a point to drop by!

And we continue with the digital short films from the "Introduction to Filmmaking" program, week after week, we shoot a project, an incredible experience, so that students gain experience on set, and with filmmaking tools.

TWO WEEK DOCUMENTARY WORKSHOP

Led by James Duff, designed for students to learn all aspects of documentary filmmaking, with a particular emphasis on storytelling and structure, this workshop runs for 12 days, with a weekend for shooting in between, includes daily lectures, demonstrations, exercises, critiques of student work, screenings, and individual meetings with the instructors to help the students develop their storytelling skills and visual style. The students will break into groups of three, and each group will produce a 10-minute documentary.

Cursos de Verano!!

Seguimos editando el largometraje, esta semana tendremos el primer montaje, a partir de aquí, nos quedara mucho trabajo, ir apurando escena por escena, paralelamente trabajar por capas el audio, etc… pero por lo que hemos podido ver, nos gusta mucho, estamos deseando acabar y poder enseñarlo!! Y como no, hemos vuelto a rodar en Digital con el grupo de Iniciación al Proceso Cinematográfico, esta vez el turno ha sido para Merili, que curiosamente ha realizado un proyecto sobre un estudiante de cine, que tiene un bloqueo para escribir y encontrara a su musa, en la persona menos esperada por todos. 

Aprovechamos para comentaros los cursos de verano del departamento de "Camara", que hemos preparado, si os interesan, no dudéis en pedir información, ya estamos llenando alguno de ellos!!

Fin de semana con Alexa (ARRI) (2 días): Este Taller esta diseñado para filmmakers, ayudantes de cámara y otros profesionales que desean mas información acerca de como rodar con la Alexa de Arri. El Taller incluye teoría, demostraciones y ejercicios prácticos con la Arri Alexa.

Taller de Steadicam (3 días): taller que presenta el arte de las técnicas y la operación del Steadicam. A través de demostraciones, conferencias y ejercicios, los alumnos aprenderán las técnicas físicas y estéticas necesarias para operar un Steadicam. Se cubrirá el montaje, el balanceo, ajustes del chaleco y el brazo, caminar y correr, escaleras, panear, ascender, angular y mas. Con Juan Fernandez y Robin Thwaites, International DIrector of Sales, Tiffen Steadicam Europe.

Taller Camara (4 días): Taller diseñado para cineastas, ayudantes de cámara y otros profesionales que quieran profundizar en el trabajo del departamento de cámara. Se examinara la teoría y la practica del trabajo que desempeña el primer y segundo ayudante de cámara, familiarizándose con la tecnología de la cámara y los procedimientos de trabajo en el plato. El curso incluye teoría, demostraciones y ejercicios prácticos utilizando equipos de 16mm, Super 16mm, 35mm y Digitales.

Taller de Fotografía con Canon Explorer of light Photographer Jennifer Wu (3 días): Taller de Fotografía de Jennifer Wu, fotografa de Canon, conocida por su fotografía de naturaleza (www.jenniferwu.com) El temario incluye como conseguir la exposición perfecta con tu cámara digital, como crear composiciones impactantes, como usar el flash de relleno, como crear la sensación de profundidad en tus imágenes, etc.

Taller Grabación Video HDSLR (4 días): En este Taller se examinara como mejor grabar video con cámaras HDSLR, su potencial y limitaciones. El temario incluye como funcionan las cámaras, tamaño de sensores, ventajas sobre campo de profundidad, limitaciones en el procesamiento de video, (compresión, rolling shutter, moire y grabación de audio). A nivel practico, los alumnos grabaran un anuncio, para experimentar con todo el proceso (work-flow).

Taller todo lo que necesitas saber para el departamento de cámara pero no aprendiste en la escuela de cine (4 días): Taller sobre como solucionar problemas básicos de cámara y electrónica. El temario incluye como crear y reparar cables, como rodar una leica, como probar y solucionar

problemas de opticas, como usar un multimetro (voltaje, resistencia, amperage), como revisar chasis..., etc.

We continue to edit the feature film, this week we'll have the rough cut completed, from here, we have a lot of work to do, polishing scene by scene, working the audio track by track, etc...  But  what we've been able to see, we really like, we can't wait to finish to share it with you!!  We'll also take this opportunity to thank yet another collaborator on this project, Julián Oliva, we'll leave you with their web!

And we're shooting digital once again with the Introduction to Filmmaking group, this time it was Merili's turn, who interestingly has created a project about a film student who has writer's block, and the very unexpected muse who will help him.

WEEKEND WITH ALEXA WORKSHOP (2 day): This two day Workshop is designed for filmmakers, camera assistants and other cinema professionals who wish to gain insight into Arri's new electronic Cinematography camera, the Arri Alexa. The workshop includes lectures, demonstrations and practical exercises using the Arri Alexa.

STEADICAM WORKSHOP - (3 day): A comprehensive 3 day workshop in the art of steadicam techniques and operation. This course is ideal for camera assistants and steadicam assistants who are looking to move up to operating, as well as for operators looking to improve their technique. Taught by Juan Fernandez and Robin Thwaites, International DIrector of Sales, Tiffen Steadicam Europe.

CAMERA WORKSHOP - (4 day) Designed for filmmakers, camera assistants and other cinema professionals who wish to gain insight into the craft of the camera department. The theory and practice of the first and second camera assistant is examined in depth, so as to become familiar with film and digital camera technology as well as film set procedures. The course includes lectures, demonstrations and practical exercises using 16mm, Super 16mm, 35mm and Digital cameras.

PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP with CANON Explorer of Light Photographer Jennifer Wu (3 day): Photo Workshop taught by Jennifer Wu, renowned for her spectacular nature photography. A lecturer for Canon, her work has been published throughout the US and has frequent gallery shows featuring her images (see www.jenniferwu.com) Topics include how to get the perfect exposure with your digital camera, how to create compelling compositions, using fill flash for people or nature photography, creating depth perception in your images and insights to finding those great shots.

SHOOTING VIDEO HDSLR CAMERA WORKSHOP (4 day): afilmʼs Shooting video with HDSLRs Workshop will show DSLR shooters the capacities of their cameras, helping them get the best result from them. Theory to be covered includes basic notions of how the cameras work, sensor sizes, their advantages as far as depth of field, lenses, portability and understanding its limitations regarding the video processing compression, rolling shutter, moire and external audio recording. The practical aspects of the workshop includes helping students familiarize themselves with the proper way of shooting with these cameras in order to get the best possible outcome, as they experience the entire workflow from shooting to post-production of a 30 sec spot.

EVERYTHING YOU DID NOT LEARN IN FILM SCHOOL BUT NEED TO KNOW FOR THE CAMERA DEPARTMENT WORKSHOP (4 day) A 4 day Workshop on basic camera and electronic troubleshooting. Topics include making, repairing and troubleshooting cables, how to make a snip test (develop a film test), test and troubleshoot optics, how to use a multimeter (how to check voltage, resistance, amperage), how to troubleshoot magazines, etc.
